Over 96 bird species have been identified in Quartz Mountain State Park including the Lark Sparrow, Swainson’s Hawk, the Eastern Bluebird, and the most colorful songbird in North America, the Painted Bunting. During the winter bird watching season, when many species are migrating to their winter nesting grounds, Quartz Mountain Resort is hosting a photography contest on Flickr.com. The best bird watching photo taken during at Quartz Mountain State Park will receive a complimentary resort stay.
Take advantage our Bird Watching Special, simply submit your Quartz Mountain birding photos to the Resort’s Flickr photo-sharing group online, and be registered to win a free return visit!
After a day of birding and hiking in the Oklahoma winter, be sure to enjoy the Resort’s lounge. Toast your toes by the fire and warm up from the inside out with one of our signature cocktails.
There’s plenty for non-birders in the family to enjoy at Quartz Mountain Resort as well. Hiking our trails, relaxing in front of the fire in our newly renovated lounge, or enjoying the art gallery will keep everyone happy.
